Living Will #16
Nothing could be better than dying together
as our Love would continue to nourish under feet.
I know you desire to shed your body by fire,
but might you consider rotting with me?
May a white cedar sprout over our bones,
growing Sunward casting all shadows underneath.
For one thousand years our children will hear
the wind sing our Love through the trees.
Over this time they will witness and guide
the world’s transition from slavery to free.
For as worms feed on dead flesh
there is a shadow devouring humanity.
Until we take heed of this possibility
we may never truly be free.
